Summer School 2013

Summer School took place on Wednesday, 28 August and Thursday, 29 August.

 23 pupils starting 6éme were welcomed by the teaching team, almost without even a word of French. The objective was total immersion in English. On Wednesday, they worked in pairs and introduced their partners to the class.

 They talked about the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s “I Have a dream” speech and then sang Blowin' in the Wind by Bob Dylan. Then they reviewed the vocabulary for school supplies and clothing. At midday, the chef made them a good English meal: tomato and cucumber salad, chicken curry and trifle. On Thursday, they continued learning the song by Bob Dylan. They did restaurant role plays and then after a good meal of cottage pie, apple crumble and ice cream, they wrote and acted out little skits that were presented to the parents at the end of the two days. Thanks again to Rose Quigley, Sylvie Wiggins and Tonja Halley who did a brilliant job teaching the 2013 session !
