  • Christmas Party

This evening of celebration was very successful for the Chritmas party ,on Friday, Dec. 13th !

No fewer than three representations were necessary to satisfy the audience who came and was delighted by the Cinderella Pantomime, the show prepared by students of the British Section of middle and high school. The result of this hard work was a wonderful moment spent with our youg actors and actresses, who managed to skillfully mix both British and French culture. We laughed with the two nasty step sisters, sympathized with poor 'Buttons' and the most sensitive of us surely let out a tear during little Cinderella's beautiful song ! A great thank you to the teachers of this talented company ! Thank you and congratulations to Mrs. Rose Quinsley and Mr Bruce Francis for all their involvement in the show as well as to the lively and gifted actors!

All this large audience was brought together around a buffet, prepared in the restaurant of the school, in a warm and festive atmosphere. Thank you to all parents who have made delicious cakes to complement the buffet .

Thank you to Celine , Jean -Pierre, Gilles , Marie- Christine , Sylvie, and all others who have given a helping hand by cutting the cakes, or disguising the children.

Here are some photos of the show !  Christmas Party 2013

  • Garden Party 2013

01-aperitif-1.jpg  A beautiful late summer sun accompanied the garden party on Sunday, September 22.

It was attended by about two hundred participants Garden tennis club in La Baule. By noon, aperitif allowed everyone to find or get to know. A well stocked and tantalizing buffet awaited the guests who are seated under the pines. It's always a nice moment that sharing friendly! Desserts prepared and brought by the families were as gorgeous as it is delicious. Over coffee, some accordion tunes played by a musician parents have contributed to the party and made me want to dance to the joyous banquet of final year students.
Tennis tournaments have been quick to take over and the sections were-won.
Thank you to the organizers and all those who have lent a hand and helped make this day a success.

  • Summer School 2013

Summer School took place on Wednesday, 28 August and Thursday, 29 August.
216-2.jpg 23 pupils starting 6éme were welcomed by the teaching team, almost without even a word of French. The objective was total immersion in English. On Wednesday, they worked in pairs and introduced their partners to the class.
They talked about the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s “I Have a dream” speech and then sang Blowin' in the Wind by Bob Dylan. Then they reviewed the vocabulary for school supplies and clothing. At midday, the chef made them a good English meal: tomato and cucumber salad, chicken curry and trifle. On Thursday, they continued learning the song by Bob Dylan. They did restaurant role plays and then after a good meal of cottage pie, apple crumble and ice cream, they wrote and acted out little skits that were presented to the parents at the end of the two days. Thanks again to Rose Quigley, Sylvie Wiggins and Tonja Halley who did a brilliant job teaching the 2013 session !

  • Jersey, mai 2013

    Day 1, Monday, May 27, 2013

traversée Start on time and in the right mood for entry under the sun in Saint-Malo.
Rapid passage on a glassy sea and landing in Jersey equally sunny.

Warm welcome by the team of St. Brelade's College and distribution of our students in the classroom for the first course.

Then lunch break on the terrace before joining the bowling for great games, followed by a big air on the beach in Saint-Ouen's Bay bowl.

Children stay in great shape despite the length of the day (1 hour time difference as well) and the accumulation of emotions.

Wake in the rain for everyone but the tide and the wind drove all this gloom.
The lunch break allowed everyone to enjoy his "packed lunch" on the terrace and in the sun.
The afternoon was devoted to a short hike on a rural path to visit the "Corbiere lighthouse."

Upon arrival, the "ice-cream" was a welcome break against a wild landscape.J2 C dégustation de glaces

The return bus was much appreciated after the 5 km walk.

    J3 A Quiz à St Aubin (bis !)

Another rainy morning but quickly dried the sea breeze
Classes begin at 9:30 am for our students, who, in groups, went to interview the island on the "Jersey way of life".
The lunch takes place again on the sunny terrace of the college.
A little surprise waiting for Chloe to his 13 years in the presence of the whole group.

    J3 I Coucou, il est là !

The activities of the afternoon consists of a quiz team in the streets and the port of Saint-Aubin, followed by a sporty and playful sequence on the beach (football, volleyball, frisbee, etc ...)
The tireless children "whoop" for an hour on a deserted beach by the sea (more than 10 meters drawdown!).
Back in college to jump on the bus.
    Tomorrow is another day.
    Good night all.

    Thursday, May 30, 2013

As usual, the day started in the rain and the sky struggling to emerge.
And, as usual, the sun makes us the grace to dry the terrace for lunch.
A change in the program, due to technical details, we took them to the zoo "Durrell" instead of Mont Orgueil Castle, as originally planned.
The beautiful weather window allowed us to enjoy the visit in this beautiful park.
Cameras rattled around, cages, terrariums, ponds and aviaries.

Then back to college at 16:30, just in time for the children to take their bus to their host families.
